An important character in the "All of Life is a School" children’s book is Jimmy G. This red-and-white monoplane is based on the Gee Bee Model R-1 and named after famed pilot Jimmy Doolittle, who flew it to victory in the Thompson Trophy race of 1932. The Gee Bee brothers – Gee Bee Zee and Jimmy G. – are accompanied by a colorful lineup of vintage aircraft characters from the Golden Age of Aviation in "All of Life is a School." Puff, pictured here, is based on a real life Gee Bee Y Sportster.
Just over one thousand men earned their pilot's wings at the all African-American Tuskegee Army Air Base in Alabama during WWII. Florida resident Dr. Yenwith Whitney (third from right) learns to fly the P-40 in early 1944.

Drawing on his own experiences as a young man with his head in the clouds, it is no surprise that Weeks' main character in "All of Life is a School," Gee Bee Zee, is eager to take to the skies. Weeks developed the children’s book to share his mission of encouraging others to reach for the sky. "All of Life is a School" is the first book by Fantasy of Flight creator Kermit Weeks. The children’s book is available in hardback for $19.95 online and in the Central Florida attraction’s gift shop.

Brought to life by Project Firefly illustrators Ron Cohee and Robert Stanton, former Disney animators, with art coordination by Pam Darley, the colorful airplane characters in "All of Life is a School" soar with the message that children should pursue their dreams and their passions. "All of Life is a School" is Kermit Weeks' first children’s book. The story is set at the mythical "Fantasy of Flight" airfield, where airplane characters work together to push the boundaries of flight and allow imaginations to soar.
