Area Children Invited to Let Their Dreams Take Flight
Fantasy of Flight Hosts Flight Rally Including Free Airplane Flights
Polk City, Florida, October 6, 2006 - Fantasy of Flight is hosting a Flight Rally, in partnership with the EAA Young Eagles program, giving children ages 8 - 17 the gift of flight. The Young Eagles program is dedicated to giving young people the opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
On Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m, more than 20 pilots will descend on Fantasy of Flight in a concerted effort to give children one-on-one experiences with the pilots, being introduced to all aspects of flying. Participants will learn about flight including pre-flight inspections, identification of parts that control the airplane and of course the flight itself.
All participants will enjoy a gift package provided by Fantasy of Flight, which will include an admission ticket to the attraction that can be used that day or for a future visit.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. for student registration. Parents can download the form on the Fantasy of Flight Web site or obtain the form at the event. Students must have a parent or legal guardian present in order to fly with a pilot.
Fantasy of Flight is home to the "World's Greatest Aircraft Collection" featuring more than 40 beautifully restored rare and vintage aircraft.
Fantasy of Flight is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission to the attraction is $26.95 for adults with discounted admission of $13.95 for children (ages 5-12), and $22.95 for mature guests (60 years and over). All prices are subject to state sales tax, and parking is FREE.
