Kermit Weeks Honored at Gathering of Eagles
Weeks Joins Extraordinary Group of Aviators Who Have Earned "Eagle" Honor

Polk City, FL ( June 5, 2006) - Kermit Weeks, owner and founder of Fantasy of Flight, has joined an extraordinary group, including former President George H. W. Bush, in receiving the honor of "Eagle", a diverse group of military and civilian aviators. Weeks was awarded the honor at a June 3rd ceremony at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.

The Gathering of Eagles, an annual event held at the Air Force base in Alabama, originated in 1980 and has progressed throughout the years to encourage the study of aviation history and emphasize the contributions of aviation pioneers.

At the age of 13, Weeks' interest in aviation was born after hearing the song Snoopy and the Red Baron on the radio. At age 17, Weeks devoted his love for aviation to the building of his first aircraft, which led to participating in aerobatic competitions, becoming a two-time US aerobatic champion winning 20 medals and earning US National Champion two times. Weeks started his aircraft collection at the age of 24 including a T-6, P-51, P-40 and many more, ultimately leading him to open Weeks Air Museum in Miami.

In 1995, Weeks opened Fantasy of Flight - "The Worlds Greatest Aviation Collection" near Polk City. His vision, to inspire mankind to go beyond himself through flight, is evident through his passion at Fantasy of Flight where Weeks participates in many of the daily aerial demonstrations flying rare, vintage aircraft.

Fantasy of Flight is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission to the attraction is $24.95 for adults with discounted admission of $13.95 for children (ages 5-12), and $22.95 for seniors (60 years and over). All prices are subject to state sales tax, and parking is FREE.

Fantasy of Flight is home to the "World's Greatest Aircraft Collection" featuring more than 40 beautifully restored rare and vintage aircraft.
