&#8216;n Fun 2011!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I attended this year&#8217;s Sun &#8216;n Fun Fly-In in the Grumman Duck, which\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">I brought it over the first day of the show because we had so many things going on at Fantasy of Flight. \u00a0Due to weather in northern Florida, the Warbird ramp was essentially empty when I arrived!<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2487\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 502px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2487 size-full colorbox-2482\" title=\"Empty Ramp\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fantasyofflight.com\/collection\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Empty-Ramp.jpg\" width=\"502\" height=\"672\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">An empty Warbird Ramp!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On Thursday of the Fly-In, I was to fly the head of the FAA, Randy Babbitt, over to the Splash-In, which Fantasy of Flight was hosting. \u00a0Unfortunately, bad weather moved in that morning and devastating winds (possibly a tornado) hit the site and damaged a number of airplanes and displays.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2491\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 558px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2491 size-full colorbox-2482\" title=\"Windy Splash-In\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fantasyofflight.com\/collection\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Windy-Splash-In.jpg\" width=\"558\" height=\"746\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Day of the Splash-In!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Thankfully, the Duck had been put inside a hangar the night before in anticipation of the approaching weather. \u00a0While Fantasy of Flight missed the worst of the weather, it dampened the Splash-In, which was held the next day.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2495\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 560px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2495 size-full colorbox-2482\" title=\"Tornado damage\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fantasyofflight.com\/collection\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Tornado-damage.jpg\" width=\"560\" height=\"418\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Some of the airplane damage at Sun &#8216;n Fun!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Randy and his entourage drove over instead and I got a chance to show them around and give them the vision tour of what we&#8217;re creating.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2498\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 502px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"672\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Touring the head of the FAA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I got to visit the Fly-In during the week and checked out my dream jet . . . the Phoenom 300!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2502\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 566px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2502 size-full colorbox-2482\" title=\"My Dream Jet!\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fantasyofflight.com\/collection\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/My-Dream-Jet.jpg\" width=\"566\" height=\"331\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">My Dream
