Sharon Baragona , Director of Sales , A Chair AffairWhat inspired you to join the event décor industry?

I started working in the hotel industry at the age of 15 and fell in love with the wedding, meeting and convention side.  My hobbies are interior design and planning personal parties, dinners and events.  A Chair Affair, Inc. was a perfect fit for me to assist many clients and brides to have their DREAM event come to fruition.

What makes A Chair Affair different from other décor companies?

Our team, service and products are exceptional.

What are some current décor trends you are seeing? Have any of them surprised you?

We are still seeing from the classy, elegant events to the vintage, country/chic events.  Food trucks are also a big hit – especially sending off the guest with some take home treats.  I like surprises and anything unique!

What questions should a meeting or event planner be asking their decorator?

Once the planner gives the decorator the feel and theme for the wedding – they need to ask if the decorator can work within their budget.  Know what communication form they like: example email, text, or phone calls.  Does the decorator have insurance?Ask the decorator have they
worked in this venue before?  Is there a backup plan?

Name (3) things that a planner should keep in mind when determining their décor needs.

  1. 1. Venue
  2. 2. Logistics
  3. 3. Budget

What do you think is going to be the “next big thing” in terms of event décor?

Making backdrops and unique ways to display the presentation of the food.  Using rich colors like Marsala, Wine and Rose Gold.
